Sweet, sweet Harper!
From the minute her momma told me she was having a girl, I couldn’t WAIT to meet her. I know the pregnancy was hard, and it felt like forever for her to finally make her grand appearance, but it was so worth it. The beauty of bringing a little baby to life, hearing her first cries, watch her learn the world around her… It’s something absolutely wonderful, and it’s one of the reasons I love newborn sessions so much!
So when Heather messaged me a few days after Harper was born about a newborn session, I was over the moon. Baby snuggles? Catching up with an old coworker? Flower wreaths? I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my last Friday of the summer. And I had no idea that Harper would win me over the way she did!
She was absolutely adorable. She modeled for me like a pro, and that button nose was just too cute. I love that doing these sessions gives me the chance to capture the little things that are going to go away all too soon. Like the tiny baby toes. The little smirk on her face while she’s sleeping. And the snuggly little girl wrapped up in her swaddle.
Newborn sessions are a way to capture a moment in time that you may not remember years in the future. Because let’s face it, #mombrain is a real thing! It gives you the chance to have pictures you’ll look back on, show to your daughter’s friends, and share with your grandkids. And trust me, those are the pictures I love looking at now that I’m older, wondering what my children will look like someday.
Heather and Luke, thank you for letting me snuggle with your sweet baby. Thank you for allowing me into your home, and for seeing the importance of capturing this amazing moment in time.
