There was nothing lining the aisle or decorating the stage.
The reception decor was minimal, with flowers, pictures and a small cake.
Her dress was modest and simple.
They had one attendant each – a matron of honor and best man.
And it was one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever captured.

Kristen’s smile lit up the room all day. Isaac told me later that he had never seen such a genuine and more beautiful smile before. She was happy. She was in love. And she wanted the whole world to see it. People talk about the “bridal glow” and Kristen definitely had it.
Mark couldn’t take his eyes off his bride all day. In all the weddings I’ve shot, I don’t think I’ve seen a husband as smitten with his wife as he was. He would have held her hand the entire day if he could have. She had been worth the wait.

But the most beautiful thing about the wedding was the fact that Kristen and Mark’s focus wasn’t on the wedding day at all. It was on the days, weeks and years to come. A wedding is over in a few hours, but a marriage lasts a lifetime, and they took that seriously. Christ was the center of the day, from the first look to the ceremony to the family dinner at the end of the night. The Lord had brought Kristen and Mark together, and had been the foundation of their entire relationship. He is the reason for their joy, and it was so incredible to see the reflection of Christ and his bride in the ceremony as as two became one.

Two words in particular came up multiple times throughout the wedding: “steadfast love”.
From the steadfast love the Lord has for us, to the steadfast love Mark and Kristen were encouraged to have for one another, it was the perfect phrase to capture the essence of the day. As the best man said in his toast, “May the house of Hannah say ‘Your steadfast love endures forever'”.

This simple and sweet wedding was one of our favorites ever, because we got to work with one of the best couples we’ve ever met. And I can truly say that Isaac and I are beyond excited for Mark and Kristen, and we can’t wait to see the Lord glorified through their marriage.
