His hand trembled as he gripped the microphone. The voices around the room died down, and all eyes turned to the stage as the best man smiled at the new bride and groom. He took a deep breath, and then he began: “Trap, I have never been so happy for you”. His voice cracked, but he still went on, “Being your big brother means I have always looked out for you. I’ve taken care of you. And today, I pass that on to Erin.” His eyes were welling up with tears. Erin and Trapper turned to look at each other, excitement and love in their eyes. They couldn’t believe this day was finally here. The day they became husband and wife. The day they got to start their life together. They day they had been dreaming for years. Trapper grabbed Erin’s hand and gave it a squeeze as they turned back to listen to the rest of the speech.

Hunter talked about growing up with Trapper, and how proud he was of the man he had become. The love between these two brothers was evident. It showed through the laughter they shared throughout the wedding day. You could hear it in the way Hunter spoke about Trapper. And you could see it in the hug they shared after the speech. The sniffling around the room was testimony enough to the emotions felt the entire wedding day.
And y’all… I couldn’t agree more with Hunter. There aren’t many guys out there like Trap. Because this kind of guy is someone who is created by the Lord. He’s raised by loving parents. Instilled with integrity. And made to do great things.
Which is why he is the perfect guy for Erin.

I’ve known Erin since we were newborns. We grew up together. Learned together. And saw each other through so many stages of life. And I have to say I’ve never seen her so happy with any other guy. From the day they met, I knew there was something different about Trapper, and that he and Erin were made for each other. I swear she hasn’t stopped grinning for the past five months, and it’s all because of Trap. She was positively radiant during her bridals, and that glow continued throughout the entire wedding day. She was a gorgeous bride!

Sometimes it’s hard to understand the Lord’s timing in people’s lives. We may not know why he allowed certain things to happen until weeks, months or years later. And when it comes to Erin and Trapper, you can tell that He’s been orchestrating their entire relationship for years. Through mutual friendships. A sister falling in love. Mexican food at a rehearsal dinner. And their first time on the dance floor together. It’s been incredible seeing their relationship unfold, and I can’t wait to continue watching them fall more and more in love with each other.

Erin and Trapper, thank you for asking me to be there to capture this life changing day in your lives. Your wedding day was so special, and I am thankful I got to be there to watch my bosom friend marry the love of her life. Trapper, continue to love Erin the way that you do. Continue to treat her like the princess she is, and serve her and honor her, and love her like Christ loves the church. Erin, remember that without Christ, your relationship with Trap means nothing. Respect his authority, love him and cherish him. Serve him with all your heart, and above all else, remember that you are the Lord’s and that you are so loved.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Horting! <3
