“We’re waiting to kiss until our wedding day”, Nathan told me as he beamed down at Becky. She looked up at him and gave him a soft smile back.
At that moment, my heart melted a little. In a society that takes marriage and love so casually, I loved seeing two people who were committed to each other, and saving themselves for the day they became husband and wife. And even though they hadn’t kissed, I don’t think I’ve ever seen two people so madly in love with each other.
It was the giddy kind of love. Full of excitement and anticipation for what was to come. They trusted each other. Respected each other. And most of all made sure to keep the Lord the center of their relationship. Y’all… their joy was contagious! As Nathan spun Becky around, and she laughed with elation, I couldn’t help but laugh along with them. It reminded me of when Isaac and I were engaged and oh so excited for our future together. It was an innocent love, and absolutely beautiful to watch.
That spring evening was one that I’ll always look back on with a smile. Nathan and Becky were so sweet and genuine. The weather was absolutely beautiful. And the spring blossoms on the trees gave the day a fresh, expectant feeling for what was to come.
For the lovebirds, it was a wedding surrounded by family and friends.
For me it was the sweet baby boy I was carrying.
And for the trees? Bright beautiful life as the blossoms turned to leaves ready so soak in the summer sunshine.
I am so thankful Becky asked me to capture this special time in her relationship with Nathan. Being able to witness a love like theirs is honestly why I absolutely love what I do!
